FIRST LADY SHANTE SMEDLEY brings a heart for service, family, and community to The Promise Church alongside her husband, Pastor Maceo Smedley. A proud graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering Technology, Shante’s professional journey includes experience in corporate technology and a deep dedication to education—serving as a middle school teacher, instructional specialist, and educational leader in the Houston area before transitioning into ministry and community impact work. She has also poured her passion for nurturing young lives into founding and operating Promise Kids Learning Academy, where she spend years creating supportive, faith-filled environments that foster growth and potential in children.

As First Lady of The Promise Church, Shante is known for her compassionate leadership, commitment to overseeing the Youth Sunday School, and active role in supporting church families and women’s ministries. She partners with Pastor Smedley in advancing the church’s mission of helping everyday people discover and walk in the promises of God, creating opportunities for discipleship, encouragement, and community connection. Together, they are devoted to spiritual growth, family enrichment, and serving their community with grace and humility. She and Pastor Maceo Smedley are blessed with two sons, Maceo III and David.
